Fleet Foxes self titled debut cd was one of the big hits of 2008. It's difficult to put a label on this album because you can hear influences from the Beach Boys to My Morning Jacket via The Polyphonic Spree and Neil Young! I chose this cd because it was my favourite album of 2008. So this is the first link to our cd chain. What you have to do is add another link of a cd that is similar to the Fleet Foxes album and why. You can start the link by writing your suggestion in the comments section and I will edit it every few days and put it on the blog page proper. There is a rather handy widget for your enjoyment where you can listen to clips of the Fleet Foxes cd.Oh, and don't forget to leave your name!
Interesting!
ReplyDeleteSmall comment for those using Firefox: if you're using the Adblock Plus addon, you'll need to disable it for this site to see the widget to listen to the music samples!

Hey,
ReplyDeleteI got the adress from Dominique.
Don't know how i have to stitch them to the fleet foxes, but you have to check "the bony king of nowher"
A new and upcoming belgium artist.

I would also suggest "woven hand", the solo project of the frontman from 16 horsepower(especially the album blush music )
The Bony King of Nowhere is a good choice, I know the name but until a few minutes ago I hadn't heard the music. He fits right in with Fleet Foxes. But I'm going to make Wovenhand the link because it came as a pleasent surprise. 16 Horsepower were a bit too 'good ole boys' for me. Wovenhand is a complete departure for David Eugene Edwards and the cd Blush Music by Wovenhand goes on the chain.
ReplyDeleteA while ago i discovered ray lamontain, but yesterday i listen to his older and more mature sister, cat power (not that they are real brother and sister ;-).
ReplyDeleteMan, i already was a fan of ray, but cat power is more grown up. Could be like ray lamontain in, lets say, 5 years.
I have Ray on my itunes but Cat Power was one of those people I listened to once and filed under "not for me". I'll check her out again and if she still isn't for me then I will wait five years! thanks for contributing Pieter.
ReplyDeleteFever Ray? ;-)
